Your data
Privacy Policy
What we collect, why, and what you can do about it. Short version: we collect as little as possible, we never sell your data, and card payments never pass through our hands.
Last updated: October 15, 2026
Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is Robert Hale. For any privacy question or request, write to roberthalesupport@gmail.com.
What data we collect
- Email address. You give it to us at checkout or when you write to our support email. We use it to deliver receipts, answer your questions and handle refunds.
- Payment data. Payments are handled by Stripe. We receive your email, the edition you bought and the payment status. We never see or store your full card number, expiry date or security code.
- Basic analytics. We collect simple, aggregated statistics about visits to this website (pages viewed, approximate region, device type). We use them to understand which parts of the site help people and which do not.
We do not collect more than this. We do not build advertising profiles and we do not sell or rent personal data to anyone.
Payments through Stripe
Card payments are processed entirely by Stripe, a certified payment provider. Stripe receives the data needed to complete your payment and processes it under its own privacy policy, which you can read on Stripe's website. We only learn that the payment succeeded.
How long we keep your data
- Order records (email, edition, payment status): up to 10 years, where tax and accounting rules require it.
- Support and refund emails: up to 3 years after the last message, so we can keep our promises to you.
- Analytics data: in aggregated form, for up to 2 years.
When a retention period ends, the data is deleted.
Your rights under GDPR
If you are in the EU, the EEA or the UK, you have the right to:
- Access — ask what data we hold about you and receive a copy.
- Rectification — ask us to correct data that is wrong or incomplete.
- Erasure — ask us to delete your personal data, unless we must keep it by law.
- Portability — receive your data in a common, machine-readable format, or have it sent to another service.
- Object and restrict — object to processing or ask us to pause it in the cases the law allows.
- Complain — lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
Your rights under the CCPA (California)
If you live in California, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request its deletion, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of in practice. Exercising these rights never changes the price you pay or the service you receive.
Cookies and analytics
This website uses only cookies that are needed for it to work (for example, remembering a download session) and privacy-friendly, aggregated analytics. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not run third-party ad trackers. You can block cookies in your browser; the shop and downloads will keep working.
International transfers
Our website and service providers (including Stripe) operate mainly in the United States. If you are in the EU or the UK, your data may therefore be transferred to the US. We rely on the standard contractual safeguards required for such transfers.
